Tour de Cypress

Burrr!!!!!

We signed up for the Tour De Cypress on Saturday. The ride was down right cold. The high for the day was about 48 degrees with 10-20 mph wind out of the north. Initially we planed to ride the 75 mile route, but once we got to the ride, no one felt like riding that far.

The ride started about 35 minutes late. We decided at the first rest stop, 24 miles sounds good. I rode with Sheldon and Pat. Vanessa rode with Jill. I got back to the car just as the light rain started. Luckily I did not have to ride in it. Vanessa and Jill got a little wet, but were glad to be done.

Before the ride we noticed that Vanessa's had a wobble in it. We got it trued Friday night, but by the she got done with the ride the rim was worse that it was before it was trued. So off to the bike shop we went.

We took the wheel to Bike Lane in Houston. It turns out that she damaged the wheel when she fell. So we bought new rims for her bike. This crash turned out to be expensive.

Sunday Morning was cold so we decided not to ride at all. Which given that it was Easter, it seemed to be a good choice.
